SLOWNESS, EMPATHY, CONNECTION.
MAKE WORKS THAT DO SOMETHING.
Hi there, I am Melody.
I finished my Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature at Fu Jen University in Taiwan and proceeded my master study in Theatre and Performance Practices at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.

During my undergraduate study, I had taken performance and directing courses and participated in presentations and senior play as a leading actress. In Scotland, apart from the training and knowledge learned from the programme at UofG, I went for a year of acting class at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and attended the final showcase.

As an emerging artist and practitioner, I have developed my interests through practices during the programme and worked with the National Theatre of Scotland, Tramway, Dance Base, Glasgow Women's Library, and Royal Lyceum.

My interests in art and performance encompass intimate performance, installation, multicultural encounter, and theatre in the dark, and my creative research has been surrounding human connections, with each other or with themselves, and the manifestation of the profound and spiritual association that creates resonances.
For me at the moment, darkness is an interesting medium to explore more with. The contrasting and stereotyping ideas and experience that comes with visual emptiness, compared with the sensational richness or mental depictions. I am intrigued by the desire and fear that hide underneath as well as the exposed fragility or ordinary realness. At the end of the day, everything about art is a channel of communication either with viewers or with makers themselves.
